Physiotherapy designed for your health and your well-being

Craniofacial physiotherapy is a specialised discipline focused on the assessment and treatment of pain and function problems of the head, face, jaw and neck.

First visit: specialised assessment

The first visit lasts about an hour and a half, adaptable to the needs of each case, and costs €95.

It is a thorough clinical assessment in which the clinical interview carries particular weight. We explore in depth the reason for your visit, the history and evolution of the problem, your medical background and the different physical, functional and psychosocial factors that may be related to your symptoms.

The visit includes a physical and functional examination, a physiotherapy diagnosis and an individualised treatment plan. From the first session we advise you about the problem and, when indicated, start treatment. The aim is not only to identify where it hurts, but to understand your problem and decide which therapeutic strategy may be most suitable.

Follow-up and individualised treatment

Follow-up visits focus more on treatment, while we keep reassessing your progress. Depending on the needs of each case, treatment may combine manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, education and advice, and semi-invasive techniques when indicated.

Your symptoms, function and goals are reviewed throughout the process to update the physiotherapy diagnosis and adapt the treatment to your response. We avoid rigid protocols: we aim for an individualised, progressive therapeutic process informed by scientific evidence.

FAQ

It is physiotherapy specialised in the head, the face, the jaw and the neck. It deals with orofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders, headaches, neck pain and other problems related to craniofacial function, such as dizziness or tinnitus.

Treatment starts with a complete assessment and, depending on each case, combines manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, education and advice, and semi-invasive techniques when indicated.

Orofacial and jaw pain, temporomandibular disorders (TMJ), tension-type and other headaches, neck pain, dizziness and vertigo, somatosensory tinnitus and craniofacial function problems related to sleep, such as bruxism or obstructive sleep apnea, always in coordination with the other professionals who look after you.

It should not be. Some techniques can cause mild, temporary discomfort, but the treatment is adapted to your tolerance and your situation. We explain what we are going to do at every moment and you can ask us to stop whenever you want.

There is no fixed number. It depends on the problem, how long you have had it and how you respond to treatment. After the first visit we propose a plan with specific goals and review it throughout the process to adjust it to your progress.
