Neck pain
Neck pain can be part of orofacial pain or a headache and may contribute to the symptoms.
Whether it is the source of the pain or a consequence, we assess cervical function to improve the overall clinical picture.
When can craniofacial physiotherapy help you?
Neck pain can be a component of orofacial pain or a headache. We assess cervical function to improve the overall clinical picture.
- Pain or stiffness in the neck.
- Pain that spreads towards the head, the shoulders or the face.
- Difficulty turning or tilting your neck.
- Neck pain associated with headaches or jaw pain.
- Persistent discomfort after whiplash.
- Pain that increases with long periods in front of a screen.
- A feeling of unsteadiness or dizziness when you move your neck.
Understanding the origin of the problem is the first step
The neck, the head and the jaw share muscles, joints and nerve pathways, so neck pain can rarely be understood in isolation.
In the assessment we analyse the mobility, motor control and sensitivity of the neck, its relationship with your head and face symptoms, and the daily habits that may be keeping the pain going.
- Examination of neck mobility and motor control.
- Assessment of the relationship between neck, head and jaw.
- Therapeutic exercise and guidelines for your daily activity.
